After several months of research I’ve compiled a list of the top 5 methods to earn money online. These aren’t necessarily the most profitable, however they are the most popular. There are literally hundreds of ways you can earn money online, choose wisely if you want to be successful. I will post information, tips, the best programs, and my personal experience about each method. I’ve earned a decent amount of money from each method that I’ve listed here so I can vouch for there legitimacy, along with there thousands of other members.
1. GPT websites.
GPT sites, or Get Paid To sites, are websites where you can earn money by performing a wide variety of tasks. You can earn money by completing surveys, doing offers, playing games, referring friends, surfing the web, and a lot more. This method of earning money online isn’t going to earn that much money, it’s just an easy way for you to earn some extra money in your free-time. Another great thing about GPT websites is that most of them are 13+ so even teens can make money online.
GPT sites were what first got me into internet marketing, so I strongly suggest them as a starting point to any aspiring internet marketers. They will teach you the basics of affiliate marketing, referral systems, PPC advertising, SEO, and so much more. The better GPT websites have forum sections where you can get helpful advice from the community, read guides, and chat. These websites barely pay you anything for the work you put into them, however the knowledge you will get from these sites is invaluable.
You’re not gonna want to jump into GPT websites blindly, you’ll get confused, frustrated, and probably give up. Instead here are some helpful tips and information that will make getting started with GPT websites easier for you!
- Set up a separate e-mail account strictly for GPT websites! If you don’t want to get A LOT of spam mail, and I mean A LOT, I would suggest that you sign up for a separate e-mail account that you use strictly with GPT websites.
- Read ALL the rules, and I mean ALL the rules. These GPT websites can be pretty strict sometimes, so it’s better to be safe then sorry. To make sure that you don’t violate any of the rules and get your account banned be sure to read all the rules of the website when you first sign up.
- Referrals are your friends! The referral system of most GPT websites is usually the best way to earn money. You can earn anywhere from $0.25 for every referral to 20% of whatever they earn online (this money comes from the GPT site, not your referral) if you can get a lot of active referrals you can potentially earn A LOT of money through this system. However because of how boring GPT websites are it is quite challenging to get an active referral.
- Learn from the community. Most GPT websites have active forum communities where people post tips, guides, and helpful techniques to earning money. The communities on GPT websites are a great source of information.
- Clear your cookies every 24 hours. In order for your offers and surveys to approve faster you should clear your cookies every 24 hours. This helps by clearing any cookies that advertisers may have left on your computer which may effect how future offers accept for you, so just to be safe, clear your cookies!
2. Writing online.
Writing online is probably the most sure-fire way to guarantee yourself some additional money online, how much you earn depends on how hard you work. There are dozens of websites that will pay you to write articles for them. You can write product reviews, travel tips, personal experiences, or pretty much anything you can think of. The amount of money you earn as an online writer all depends on the quality and popularity of what you write. If you write a high-quality article and promote it well you can earn upwards of $50 residual monthly income PER ARTICLE! Writing online can be very lucrative for some, and very tedious for others.
When I first realized that you could earn money writing about whatever you wanted online, I was stoked! This meant that I could use my creativity and decent grammar to earn some extra money, and it would be more profitable then GPT websites. I was planning on starting a blog so writing articles seemed like it would be a great way to practice my writing skills. I learned so much more about writing, marketing, SEO, design and lots more by writing and reading articles on Squidoo. If you’re a decent writer then I would strongly suggest writing online as an additional source of income.
To avoid legal issues with copyright, and to make sure that you earn a decent amount of money through writing I’ve provided some helpful tips. These are tips that I’ve learned over the last several months, I’m sharing them with you because they were extremely helpful to me.
- Pick a niche that interests people to write about. Find a popular subject that you can provide information on and write articles on it, this will get you more readers, and overall more money.
- Only use images that you have permission to use or that you took. Using images without permission or giving credit can lead to copyright issues. It’s best just to use images that you have permission to use, or that you took, there are dozens of free image resources online just take the time to look.
- Don’t spin articles. Don’t re-write someone’s work and re-post it as your own, you’ll most likely get banned or the articles won’t get ranked well and you won’t earn much money. It’s best to just write original content.
- Actively promote your articles. No matter how many articles you have online make sure that you are actively promoting each one. This helps them stay highly ranked and brings in more readers, more readers means more money.
- Squidoo
– This is a great writing platform, the revenue sharing system is
great, the referral system is alright, the community is really helpful,

Affiliate marketing is perfect for all the sales people in the world. You can earn money by promoting and selling any type of product or service, so you can work with your personal preferences. You can earn anywhere from 4% – 20% for every affiliate sale, this is a great way to earn money through marketing. If you’re interested in getting into marketing there are several affiliate marketing forums on the internet that are stuffed full of useful information, take the time to study, it will pay off in the end. There are hundreds of affiliate programs on the Internet, I’m sure there’s one that’s perfect for you.
Soon after I got into writing articles I realized the potential of affiliate marketing. I began combining review articles with affiliate links and started making more money from my articles. I plan on launching a website for marketing a certain affiliate program that I’m a member of, hopefully that project will go over well. Affiliate marketing has taught me a lot about marketing online, sales pitches, and the importance of using images. Affiliate marketing is a little difficult in the beginning, once you get the hang of it though it’s like wind in your hair.

- Market a product / service you know about or use. It’s best if you can relate to your readers on a personal level, this will make them more likely to purchase the product through your link.
- Don’t over-pack your site. Don’t stuff a bunch of affiliate links and banners into your site, this makes it unappealing and will reduce the chance of people clicking your links. Instead you should strategically choose the best place to put your link depending on the layout of your site, if someone wants the product they will click the link that’s available.
- Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. This applies to a lot of money-making methods, affiliate marketing especially. Try out various programs in the same niche, it can never hurt to give your readers an option when choosing the best product to buy.
You-Tube is one of the most popular websites on the Internet, it gets millions of views every day! You earn money by the ads that are put at the bottom of your video, the more views the more money you earn. There are You-Tube comedians / actors that earn thousands of dollars every month from their You-Tube accounts alone, that’s enough money to live off of. Creating creative entertaining videos can be challenging, however with camera and video editing software developing at it’s current rate, soon almost anyone can create high-quality videos. You can create videos about anything you want to, the more informative, entertaining, and creative they are the better they will perform.
I first started making resource videos about internet marketing tips and such soon after I began writing articles online. I would make videos relating to articles that I wrote about and then I would interlink the two. This is a great combination of money making methods, you’ll get more visitors / views and you’ll earn more money. I’m currently working on a You-Tube series about internet marketing, it’s a sub-project of this blog. You-Tube has been a lot of fun, I enjoy the feedback I get by creating helpful videos for others, it’s very motivating to keep doing what I do.

- Don’t invest in “like packages”. Don’t invest in services where people offer to sell you views or likes to increase the popularity of your video, this may result in your account getting banned. Instead you should focus more on getting organic views, and a targeted audience.
Stock photography is a great way for any aspiring, hobbyist, or professional photographer to make some extra money. You earn money by uploading your images to a stock photography website, if they are accepted to the site people will be able to see them on the site and if they download them you will earn money. It’s important that you upload quality pictures, that capture peoples attention. Use vibrant colors, large images, and you’ll most likely have some success with stock photography.
As an upcoming photographer, stock photography presented a perfect opportunity to bring in some extra money. I first started with stock photography by taking all the pictures, and doing all the graphics for my articles, blog, and websites. I collect a lot of great high-quality pictures from a wide variety of niche’s. Since I design websites for almost any client I usually end up with dozens of high-quality micro niche images that make for great stock photographs. With stock photography you will learn the importance of labeling images, it’s going to be the main way people find your pictures so you can make money off of them.
The tips I’m about to share with you about stock photography are very important to succeeding, so read carefully. These will help increase the chance of your image getting accepted to the site, increase download rate, and earn you more money.
- Keep your image as large as possible. The large the image the more download options people will have, and the more likely they will download the image. This also helps improve your chances of getting your image accepted.
- Take lots of pictures. You are going to need quality and quantity if you plan on succeeding. There are people that earn thousands of dollars every month with stock photography, however they have tens of thousands of images online.
- Read the rules. Always be sure to read the rules for anything that you do. The rules of stock photography will give you the minimum requirements of stock images for that specific site. The rules may change with stock image websites so be sure to read the rules for every site you’re a member of.
- Use vivid colors! Vivid colors bring attention to the eye, this will help attract people to your image. You’ll get more downloads if you’re getting more views, so photographing vibrant subjects may be a good idea.
If you’re just using one of the methods above you’re not going to earn much money, at all! To help you earn some more money I’m going to tell you how you can use all five methods simultaneously, this will bring in a dramatic boost to your online income. Take the knowledge that you get from GPT websites and use it to promote your articles, do all the own images for your articles so you can sell them as stock images, write articles relating to affiliate products that you market, create YouTube videos relating to your niche so you can use the videos to promote your articles, and get you affiliate sales. That is probably the best way of combining the five most popular ways to earn money online. You may earn enough money to support yourself and quit your day job if you successfully combine all five methods.
